About Prudent Mom
Welcome to Prudent Mom, a place where money, business, investing and real life come together.
I’m an accountant, entrepreneur, investor, full-time freelancer, wife and mother who believes that financial freedom isn’t just about how much money you make. It is also about what you do with the money you have.
My journey hasn’t been a straight line.
I started my career working a 9-to-5 job, but eventually realised that I wanted something different. I wanted more freedom, more control over my time and the opportunity to build something of my own. So, I took the leap and left my 9-to-5 to pursue entrepreneurship and freelancing full-time.
And that decision changed my life.
The freedom to work for myself.
The freedom to manage my time.
And most importantly, the freedom to be more present for my family.
From 9-to-5 to Multiple Income Streams
Before settling into freelancing and online work, I tried my hands at different businesses.
I have ventured into businesses such as dry cleaning and the importation of used baby items, among others. Some worked, while others did not go exactly as planned. But every business taught me something valuable about money, risk, customers, profit and building a sustainable business.
Eventually, freelancing became a major part of my journey.
What started as an alternative source of income grew into a full-time career that gave me something I deeply value: freedom.
The freedom to work for myself.
The freedom to manage my time.
And most importantly, the freedom to be more present for my family.
Why I Started Prudent Mom
Over the years, I have become increasingly passionate about investing, creating alternative income streams and helping people become more intentional with their money.
I am particularly interested in the many ways ordinary people can build wealth, not just through traditional employment, but through investments, businesses, freelancing and other legitimate sources of income.
As someone who has personally explored different businesses, freelancing and investments, I know that making money is only one part of the equation.
Knowing what to do with that money is just as important.
That is where Prudent Mom comes in.
Here, I share what I have learnt, and what I am still learning, about:
- Investing in Nigeria
- Stocks, mutual funds and other investments
- Freelancing and making money online
- Business ideas and entrepreneurship
- Creating alternative sources of income
- Personal finance and making smarter financial decisions
- Real-life money decisions and the cost of living
- Building wealth gradually and intentionally
I don’t believe there is one magic formula for becoming financially successful.
What works for one person may not work for another.
My goal is to share practical information, real experiences, lessons from my successes and mistakes, and opportunities worth considering, so you can make better financial decisions for yourself and your family.
I’m Still Learning Too
One thing you will notice about Prudent Mom is that I am not here pretending to have everything figured out.
I’m on the journey too.
I’m constantly learning about new investments, businesses, ways to earn money and better ways to manage and grow what I already have.
Sometimes I’ll share something that worked for me.
Sometimes I’ll share something I’m researching.
And sometimes I’ll tell you about a mistake so you don’t have to make the same one.
Because I believe financial education should be practical, honest and accessible.
If You’re Trying to Build More Financial Freedom...
Then you’re in the right place.
Whether you’re a Nigerian looking for ways to invest your money, someone considering leaving the 9-to-5, a parent looking for additional income, a freelancer trying to grow your earnings, or simply someone who wants to become better with money, I’d love for you to stick around.
